Correct shooting line

A perfect line of stroke or shooting line is essential for your billiard game so you will be able to execute any shot.

When you miss straight shots it is because of problems in your line of sight and also because of your body position.

That problem that you have had for years, you can correct it right now with this current information.

The first thing you should know is that the line of sight is formed by the ghost ball.

What is the ghost ball?

The ghost ball is putting the imaginary cue ball on the spot where you have to hit the object ball to be pocketed.

Maybe this explanation sounds Chinese, however, with this image you will understand what I am talking about.

How to make the perfect shooting line?

  • Put your cue pointing at the ghost ball
  • This ghost ball is the spot where the cue ball will hit the object ball to be pocketed in the pocket.
  • Create your stance through this shooting line
  • The left foot points to the cue ball or you can have it point to the side (I am left-handed, if you are right-handed, it will be your right foot).
  • The right foot pointing to the pocket where the object ball is going to be pocketed (vice versa if you are right)
  • My hand under my elbow and in turn under my left foot (vice versa).
  • My feet are at a 45º angle
  • I make the swing and execute
  • I stay down for 5 seconds
  • Practice for 30 minutes a day to get into the habit.

Watch this video of how I do it and repeat the process:

The next step is to learn the stance.

The stance is created from the shooting line.

It is important that you know how to position your body to hit the billiard balls well.
